What You Will Do:
Production Manager is a key leader in the operations function at JonnyPops.
The Production Manager is responsible for the daily execution of production plan in order to meet JonnyPops demand forecast.
Participates as a member of the JonnyPops Food Safety Team.
Responsibilities include directing, training, and developing a team in the areas of good manufacturing practices, human safety, food safety, food quality, inventory control, and process improvement to meet JonnyPops manufacturing objectives and deliver on our consumer commitment to delight each and every time.
Essential functions and primary
Responsibilities:
Consistently create safety awareness among all employees to prevent safety incidents and achieve company safety goals.
Implement quality systems, other food safety and production processes that ensure compliance with regulatory and customer standards.
Maintain a product quality that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
Participates in regular audits both formal and informal sanitation and GMP audits to assure compliance with JonnyPops and Regulatory policies.
Manages production supervisors and production workforce to meet daily planned production levels to meet or exceed standards.
Build effective relationships with the warehouse, quality, purchasing and planning to create a positive work environment that results in increased productivity.
Responsible for documentation protocols related to throughput activities, daily downtime tracker, inventory transaction logs, GMP processes and opening/closing checklist compliance.
Implement and sustain continuous improvement in all aspects of the plant operation.
Participate in the creation of Standard Work Instructions for all production processes.
Responsible to ensure implementation of Standard Work processes.
Provide leadership to production team to maintain compliance of quality systems such as, SQF and AIB as well as customer specific quality audit requirements of large food consumer products customers.
Responsible for daily labor management according to defined labor standards by product type.
Work with cross-functional teams to increase the efficiency of the production area (production, quality, maintenance, supply chain).
Manage performance through the use of production metrics.
Provides immediate feedback to production team members daily regarding their execution of daily tasks according to defined standards.
The feedback should include positive reinforcement of a job well done and corrective feedback in the event agreed upon processes are not being followed.
Key Daily Areas of Focus:
Set up / Opening - Start the day on time / validate completion of sanitation responsibilities.
Labor Management - FTE's & Hours according to production standard.
Meet daily production plan according to current standard.
Documenting Production / Packaging progress via RedZone production communication and performance system - 100% compliance.
Daily Downtime documentation including time down, specific equipment down & detailed description of downtime occurrence.
Daily inventory transaction logs (packaging materials, mixing materials) - complete by end of day.
Responsible for WIP inventory tracking & reporting.
Waste in WIP will be tagged to Production throughput.
Collaboration in Netsuite (Oracle ERP) to manage production processes with other partners througout the company.
Direct production team throughout course of day on procedures, required food safety documentation procedures and GMP's.

Qualifications Education:
Bachelors (or equivalent experience) in Manufacturing Operations, Industrial Engineering, Operations or related field.
Experience & Skills:
7
years of food manufacturing experience preferably in wet food - dairy products.
Demonstrated experience working with LEAN Manufacturing Principles.
Working mechanical knowledge of packaging equipment.
Must be familiar with GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices) and QC standards required in a foods packaging environment.
Strong knowledge of inventory control / supply chain practices.
Experience hiring, leading and developing an effective production team.
Must be able to manage multiple tasks and balance competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
Proven experience maintaining or implementing metrics to measure and manage performance.
Effective written communication and presentation skills.
Ability to influence up, down and across organization levels.
Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, and Outlook) Strong ERP skills Strong planning and prioritization skills.

This position is exempt making it ineligible for overtime.
