com Job Summary Under the direction of the Assistant Zoning Administrator, the Water Resources Planner protects the County's natural resources, implements procedures related to ordinances, permits, or rules regarding Wetlands Conservation Act, shoreland, zoning, floodplain and erosion control regulations.
This position conducts a review of building permits to ensure that ordinance requirements are being met prior to building permits being issued.
This position is located on-site at the Government Center in Elk River, MN, however will also require occasional work in the field.
Our regular business hours are Monday - Friday 8:
00am - 4:
30pm, though the department provides staff with flexibility in effort to strive for a desired work/life balance.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Studies, Physical Science, Biological Science or related field; AND Three years environmental work experience.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Previous work experience in government pertaining to environmental permitting, education and enforcement is preferred.
A valid Minnesota Driver's License is required.
Certification required to obtain within one year of hire:
