0 Elk River, MN Elk River, MN Full-time Full-time $23 - $28 an hour $23 - $28 an hour SUMMARY Performing preventative maintenance and repairs to ensure the facility operations ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
1.
Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards 2.
Preform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs, sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels, etc.
) 3.
Assist in the setup of ventilation, refrigeration and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary 4.
Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality 5.
Inspect alarms systems (fire, protection, etc.
) and schedule repairs when needed 6.
Troubleshoot and perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows, etc.
) 7.
Undertake activities of outside grounds care (shoveling, lawn care, parking lot, doors, security system, etc) 8.
Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment 9.
Conduct general upkeep procedures and other tasks as assigned 10.
Offers assistance and advice in the selection of new equipment and the retrofitting of equipment for greater efficiency in the shop.
11.
Basic experience in electrical, plumbing, mechanical, wood working and metal working.
12.
Performs as a key member of the shop.
Contributes substantially to the quality, safety, housekeeping, and efficiency of the entire shop.
13.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Core working hours are from 6AM-2:
30PM M-F.
Some weekends required for special projects.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Proven experience as a maintenance operator.
Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two plus years as proven experience as a maintenance operator.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to read and speak conversational English.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) is desired.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Good manual dexterity with hands and fingers.
Problem-solving skills.
Basic computer and Microsoft office knowledge.
